Lobbying activities

for the tradeshow design and event industry

Lobbying activities comprise the core responsiblities of the FAMAB.

Again and again, the Association is called upon to bring its competencies to the table  in legislative processes, in the establishment of professional profiles or in the implementation of industry-relevant statutes.

To further strengthen the weight of its own voice and to make a difference, the Association frequently works side by side with other associations. Among them are the ForumKom, with which the FAMAB partnered in the establishment of apprenticeship curriculum >Kommunikationskaufmann / kauffrau< (communications specialist) or the union of the Verbände der Veranstaltungswirtschaft zur Überprüfung der Kriterien für Scheinselbständigkeit (Associations of the Event Industry for the Verification of the Criteria for Pseudo-Self-Employment) or the joint activities with the AUMA aiming at the modification of the EU Service Guideline.

The FAMAB is a member of the:

  • AUMA (Austellungs- und Messeausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft), the exhibition and tradeshow commission of German businesses since 1991
  • IFES, the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services in Brussels since 1985. FAMAB us a founding member of this international association.

FAMAB is an associated member of :

  • the EVVC (Europäischer Verband der Veranstaltungscentren = European Association of Event Venues)
  • the DTHG (Deutschen Theatertechnischen Gesellschaft = German Theater Technology Association)

two designated professional profiles for the event industry

since 2001

Since the summer of 2001, the event industry is in a position to offer two designated professional apprenticeship curriculums:

  • Veranstaltungskaufmann / -kauffrau (event specialist)
  • Fachkraft für Veranstaltungstechnik (event technology specialist)

The FAMAB was involved in the creation of both apprenticeship curriculums. As an expert in the master plan commission it played a deciding role in the creation of the master curriculum and teaching curriculum.
